After the time Harald was exploring South Africa for seven months, the South
African Virus caught him. He wanted to come back to South Africa as much as
possible. After another stay (a few months later) back in Germany he introduced
his friends Mato, Thomas, Michael and Simon a very nice property
and already fluttered with a purchasing contract. The friends, who grew up
together near Munich, didn't think a long time and the project Sunset
Manor was born.
Immediately after Simon finished his architectural studies, Harald and Simon
flew to Cape Town to start with the renovation of the former farm house and
enjoyed the time together. Finally in December 2004 the guesthouse business
started.
The idea:
To create a place where people come together and experience no
anonymous self catering or squeezed together hotel atmosphere.
The result:
A concept that combines the comfort of a Guesthouse, with the comfort of
fully serviced apartments including a self catering option.
You book a double room and get a whole private apartment and come
together with other guest in the Guest Lounge with Breakfast Area,
open Fireplace and Bar.
But Sunset Manor offers so much more:
The huge venue, with its large Swimming Pool and Golf Chipping Green is
nestled comfortably at the sun drenched foot of the Hottentots Holland
Mountain Range and the False Bay Coast just outside Gordons Bay, a
picturesque coastal town close to Cape Town. Sunset Manor is ideally
situated for a relaxing seaside holiday within a short drive to the bright
lights of Cape Town, thirty minutes to the main airport and on the outskirts
of the Cape Winelands. This central hide-away, will provide you with an
incomparable piece of paradise. Every apartment offers you full sea view and
a breathtaking panorama of the mountains.
After staying a while at Sunset Manor Simon met Lyn, a lovely
South African who grew up in Stellenbosch.
The couple are running the Guesthouse now for four years , have a very cute
son Luka and offer our guests a very warm welcome and a personalised
service.
We are very proud that our guests warm to our concept, the
whole venue, the apartments and our service.
At this point we have to thank all our lovely guests for the outstanding
feedbacks. This is way we love to go on!
